Over het staakt-het-vuren in Gaza

20 oktober 2025

ON THE CEASEFIRE IN GAZA

20 October 2025

The International Initiative for Peace is following with great interest the strong signs of a final agreement to cease the aggression against Gaza. It is an important step toward ending one of the most horrific wars of genocide, starvation, and humanitarian tragedies of the modern era, perpetrated by the racist and Nazi-Zionist regime over two dark years against the steadfast, resistant Palestinian people, clinging to their land and adhering to their right to life, existence, liberation, and emancipation. This ceasefire would not have reached without the firm resistance of the palestinians people, and the failure of the zionist attempt of assisantion of Hamas negociating delegation in Doha. The hottible failure to end the negociation process and attacking of the capital of one of the Arab ally countries with USA, has provoked a strong reaction from Arab countries and threathend the interests of USA in the Middle East.

The STOPWW3-International Initiative for Peace salutes the efforts made and all living consciences in solidarity with the Palestinian people across the world. We emphasize that the Zionist entity, known for its disregard for international law and shirking of agreed-upon obligations, is required today to immediately and effectively respect this agreement and fully adhere to its provisions and all its stages, without hesitation or maneuvering, including the release of prisoners.

We also insist that this agreement immediately and effectively allow the urgent and unconditional entry of humanitarian aid, and work to restore the foundations of life in Gaza, which was destroyed by the brutal Zionist war machine.

We reiterate that building a true, just, and lasting peace is achievable, provided there is a complete and genuine end to the occupation of Palestinian land, enabling the Palestinian people to manage their own affairs, freely and independently determine their fate, and recognizing all their legitimate national rights, foremost among them their right to establish an independent and viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

At these critical moments, we also make a sincere appeal to all the forces and factions of the Palestinian people, both active and struggling, for unity, strengthening internal national cohesion, and overcoming regrettable and negatively impactful differences. This is to ensure that this phase is best navigated and that broader and happier horizons await the brotherly Palestinian people.

Bagram, a big morsel that will get stuck in the US imperialism’s throat

22 September 2025

By Left Radical Afghanistan (LRA)

Imperialism and the unchanging paradigm of expansionism

Imperialism is not an optional “policy”, but a structural “necessity” for the capitalist system in its monopoly-financial stage. Imperialism is the highest and inherent stage of the capitalist system, whose essence is crystallized in war, aggression, occupation, plunder and exploitation of nations. To escape its internal contradictions and ongoing crises, including falling rates of profit, this system requires constant expansion into new markets, cheap resources, and spheres of influence. This expansion is inherently accompanied by bloody military wars, military aggression, interventions, state overthrows, occupations, and the creation of structural instability. Afghanistan has been a victim of this predatory policy of imperialists and colonial powers for at least half a century.

Donald Trump’s recent statements: “If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram Airbase back to those that built it, the United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN,” are nothing more than a reiteration of the same language of threats, bullying, and imperialist unilateralism that unmasks the true face of US policies. These words are merely a continuation of the same logic of hegemony that led Afghanistan to the brink of destruction in 2001 under the false pretext of the “war on terrorism”.

US imperialism under Donald Trump with its constant threat of annexing Canada as the 51st state of the United States, attempts to occupy Greenland, pressure Panama to seize control of the Panama Canal, warning to evacuate Gaza from its native inhabitants and hand it over to the US to build a dreamy, profitable tourist zone, selling modern weapons and financial assistance to continue the war in Ukraine, financing and arming Israel for genocide in Palestine, and supporting Israel’s attacks and aggression on Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Qatar, the dispatch of warships and military forces to the coast of Venezuela to overthrow the elected government of Maduro, and finally, now the threat of re-occupying Afghanistan, reflects the nature of US imperialism for capital accumulation and economic and political hegemony.

The dire economic, geopolitical, and class consequences of this war-mongering and predatory policy of American imperialism, and the entire capitalist system based on private property and unfair production relations, are directed at the working class and toiling classes around the world. The military, economic, and geopolitical approaches of the Trump administration, as a prominent representative of the savage capitalist system, show how US imperialism and its NATO partners continue to play a deadly game with their rivals over the bones of the people of Ukraine, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and now Afghanistan and in this path, it even uses fundamentalist forces and terrorist groups it has cultivated.

Bagram’s Strategic Importance in the Cold War and Beyond

Bagram Air Base, located in Afghanistan’s Parwan Province, is more than a military base; it is a geopolitical symbol. Its construction began by the Soviet Union in the 1950s, as part of Cold War competition and to provide aid to the then Afghan government. But after the Soviet military invasion in 1979, this base became the main logistical and operational center of the Red Army and played a key role as a tool for dominating the region.

After the Soviet withdrawal, the base came under the control of the Soviet puppet government of Najibullah, and between 1992 and 1996, the Islamic government of the Mujahideen and warlords supported by Pakistan, the West, and Arab governments. With the fall of the Mujahideen government in 1996, the base was taken over by the Taliban and became a training center for domestic and international terrorists.

But with the US invasion in October 2001, Bagram once again became the center of military power for a foreign superpower. The base, covering an area of 77 square kilometers, has two runways over 3,000 meters long, and is capable of deploying more than 100 fighter jets, including B-1B and B-52 strategic bombers. At the height of NATO’s presence, the base had become a “mini-military city” with more than 10,000 American and NATO personnel, a large Guantanamo-style prison, chain restaurants, bowling alleys, and advanced communications and spying facilities. For two decades, Bagram was the coordination center for bombings, night raids, and gruesome interrogations for the United States and NATO.

Now, Trump and his warmongering circle are eager to reclaim this strategic base. The US claim that the base is now in the service and occupation of China, or that the US needs it to “fight terrorism,” is a big and repeated lie. The history of the past two decades has proven that the US military and intelligence presence in Afghanistan not only did not eradicate terrorism, but also created objective conditions of poverty, insecurity, and instability, providing a platform for the growth and proliferation of more than 22 new terrorist groups. The slogan of fighting terrorism is a profitable business for US imperialism and an excuse to expand its influence and hegemony.

The hasty and disgraceful US withdrawal in August 2021 and the fall of Bagram to the Taliban dealt a severe blow to the international prestige of US imperialism. Both during his election campaign and now, Donald Trump always blames the Biden administration for America’s defeat in Afghanistan, the shameful withdrawal of its military forces from Bagram base, and the abandonment of more than $ 80 billion worth of military equipment to the Taliban. Therefore, the Trump administration’s effort to retake Bagram is not just a strategic goal, but an attempt to regain that lost credibility and demonstrate strength.

Monetary deal in exchange for national sovereignty and war economy

Pakistani media reports that the US and the Taliban are negotiating a monthly payment of $300 million to the Taliban in exchange for the use of Bagram is a classic example of the political economy of war, where the ruling classes are willing to accept any disgraceful position and deal to survive, without the slightest benefit reaching the people and the working classes.

From this perspective, the Taliban, as the current rulers of Afghanistan, have put Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity up for sale as a commodity in the global and regional political market in order to continue their medieval rule. The Taliban’s demand of $1 billion per month from the United States in exchange for the handover of the Bagram base indicates their understanding of the strategic value of this commodity.

The US payment of this amount is effectively a rental of an instrument of violence. This budget could easily be financed through the US military budget, which reached $886 billion in 2024, while at the same time generating huge profits for the US Military-Industrial Complex through contracts to maintain, fuel and supply weapons to the base.

This economic model exposes the true nature of the war on terror: the transformation of violence into a profitable industry for the capitalist ruling class and the oligarchs who control major economic resources. The US presence in Afghanistan cost American taxpayers more than $2.3 trillion between 2001 and 2021, according to the Watson Institute at Brown University. Returning to Bagram is, in effect, a reinjection of money into the war machine of a capitalist ruling minority.

Buying the national sovereignty of a country for money may be the cheapest way that America can dream of. But everyone knows that the Taliban regime has no legitimacy among the Afghan people, and no foreign country, except Russia, has so-called recognized it. Therefore, any agreement or deal with the hated Taliban regime is considered a betrayal of the Afghan people. Furthermore, the official and secret negotiations of the American delegation with the misogynistic Taliban regime make a mockery of America’s claim to oppose the Taliban because of their human rights and women’s rights violations. For US imperialism and its NATO allies, human values are important when they serve as a pretext for pressure; and when their strategic interests require it, they enter into deals and friendships with even the darkest forces.

The geopolitical importance of Bagram as a lever to contain China, Russia, and the region

The importance of Bagram to the US is not limited to Afghanistan or the Taliban. The geographical location of the base makes it a key strategic asset in the competition with China, Russia, and their allies in the region:

  1. Surveillance of China: Bagram is less than 500 kilometers (300 miles) from China’s Xinjiang Autonomous Region, home to a largely Muslim Uighur population dissatisfied with the Chinese government. This proximity allows the United States to deploy advanced electronic surveillance systems, such as the RC-135 Rivet Joint, to intercept communications and monitor Chinese movements in this sensitive region. On the other hand, the US could directly undermine China’s security and stability by providing financial and arms support to the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, which is based in the north of Afghanistan. It is a part of a broader US strategy to contain, besiege, and destabilize China.
  2. Pressure on Russia and its allies in the region: Access to Bagram would challenge Russia’s strategic depth in Central Asia and heighten Moscow’s concerns about stability on its southern periphery. The base could serve as a staging point for operations and interventions in Russia’s area of interest. Dozens of Islamic terrorist groups composed of citizens of Central Asian countries and Chechens who were fighting in Syria, after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime, left Syria with the help of Abu Muhammad al-Julani, who himself has a history of membership in ISIS and terrorist groups, and were sent to other countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, and some Central Asian countries.

It is understandable why Donald Trump’s latest statements are being taken very seriously by China and Russia, who are expressing their concern. China and Russia’s opposition to the US military presence in Afghanistan is not out of compassion for the Afghan people, but rather due to their own strategic calculations against US hegemony.

After the withdrawal of American and NATO forces from Afghanistan in August 2021, the Chinese government and its affiliated companies entered Afghanistan. While in the first two years of Taliban rule, the streets of Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan were filled with widespread women’s protests against the Taliban every day, and the female protesters chanted slogans of “bread, work, freedom,” and the Taliban responded by shooting, beatings, imprisonment, and torture; the Chinese government, led by the “Communist Party”, shamelessly engaged in political and economic deals with such a misogynistic, anti-science, anti-freedom, and anti-civilization regime.

Ignoring the Taliban’s inhumane and brutal behavior towards the Afghan people, especially women and girls, and ethnic and religious minorities, the Chinese government invested in the extraction of Afghanistan’s minerals and economic resources and signed dozens of contracts worth tens of billions of dollars with the illegitimate Taliban regime. On January 31, 2024, Xi Jinping became the first foreign president to accept the credentials of the Taliban ambassador to Beijing.

Russia and China are under illusions about their stance against the Taliban. They still do not understand the Taliban regime properly. They hope that they will use the Taliban against America and the West and prevent the infiltration of terrorist groups into Central Asia and China.
But on August 28, 2025, the Taliban proved that they do not adhere to any diplomatic principles and regulations by canceling the 25-year “Amu Darya Oil Extraction” contract with a Chinese company and arresting 12 Chinese employees in northern Afghanistan. Therefore, if the negotiations between the Taliban and the US on handing over the Bagram base to the US in exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars per month, recognition of the Taliban government, release of frozen Afghan money, and removal of the names of Taliban leaders from the UN blacklist are successful, the renewed US military presence in Afghanistan could disturb the sweet dreams of China and Russia.

The Afghan people are caught between two fires

The internal situation in Afghanistan is tragic. The people of this country are caught between two destructive forces:

  1. The Taliban government:
The Taliban government, which is a reactionary, anti-women, and anti-democratic regime, has made implementing Islamic Sharia and misogynistic laws its priority during its four years of rule, and has no plan for social welfare or reducing poverty and unemployment. According to UN reports, 80% of Afghanistan’s economy has collapsed since the Taliban took over, and more than 23 million of the country’s 35 million people face acute food insecurity. Severe restrictions on women have deprived them of education, work, and social participation.
  2. US imperialism and its reactionary domestic allies:
The corrupt generals and officials of the Karzai-Ghani regime and former warlords such as Dostum, Ahmad Massoud, Mohaqiq, Ismail Khan, Sayaf, who have a long history of war crimes, corruption and drug trafficking, are seeking to return to power through the boots of foreign soldiers. Former warlords played a key role in the fall of the first Taliban regime in 2001 and thereafter as American ground soldiers. In return for their service and betrayal of their homeland, the United States granted them significant power and financial privileges under the Hamid Karzai and Ashraf Ghani governments. In addition, these forces, who were accused of war crimes, were granted immunity from prosecution.

These warlords in exile expressed their satisfaction and support for Trump’s threat and announcement of the occupation of the Bagram military base by the United States, and expressed their readiness to serve the United States as local mercenary forces. The recent agreement by the US Congress to pass a law to facilitate Intelligence information sharing with Taliban opponents also shows that Washington is implementing a dual strategy, both negotiating and making financial deals with the Taliban and supporting opposition forces to pressure them.

Military occupation or intelligence occupation

Taliban military forces entered Kabul on August 15, 2021, and took control of Kabul airport and other provinces. The withdrawal of US and NATO military forces under Taliban supervision and assurance was completed between August 15 and August 31, 2021. The US and NATO withdrew their military forces, but their intelligence presence never diminished.

Although the Taliban claim independence, everyone knows that Afghan airspace is still controlled by the United States and that American, British, German, and French intelligence forces have a strong presence in Afghanistan. The Taliban cannot continue to rule Afghanistan without the weekly aid of $40-80 million. This cash support from the United States has stabilized the value of the Afghani against foreign currencies and has even improved compared to the time of Ashraf Ghani.

Perhaps the US will not be able to take over the Bagram base with its military presence like Germany, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, but in the era of technology and artificial intelligence, the US is able to achieve its goals in a different way by colluding with the Taliban.

Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Special Representative for Afghanistan Peace and a key member of the 2020 Doha Peace Agreement between the US and the Taliban, has clearly written on his page X on September 21, 2025, that the US never intends to have a military presence in Afghanistan again and only wants to ensure that the Bagram base does not serve Afghanistan’s neighbors (China).

The Experience of the Russia-Ukraine War

The United States and NATO, contrary to the peace agreements with the Soviet Union to end the Cold War, continued the Cold War and, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, practically created the conditions for direct confrontation by encircling Russia and its allies with the expansion of NATO in Eastern Europe. The roots of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine must be sought before 2014, when the US and NATO tightened the encirclement of Russia every day and ignored Russia’s growing warnings and concerns. After 2014, Ukraine, on the border with Russia and Belarus, had practically become a major intelligence and operational center for the US and NATO against Russia. With the bullying action of the US, France, England and Germany; Russia invaded Ukrainian territory with the justification of self-defense and preventive action. But Donald Trump always reminds in his speeches that if he were the president of the US, the war between Russia and Ukraine would never have happened.

The Taliban cannot afford to give more power and influence to either of these two nuclear rivals and the world’s largest and second largest economic giants on Afghan soil. Giving special privileges to one stakeholder will only provoke and anger the other. The United States will not tolerate China’s billion-dollar investment in Afghanistan’s natural resources and mines or its use of the Bagram military base, and neither can China, Russia, and Iran remain indifferent to the widespread American influence in Afghanistan against their own security.

The United States has long opposed China’s “Belt and Road Initiative”, which would connect Asia, Africa, and Europe through 65 countries. In addition to its economic benefits, the initiative could also contribute to China’s hegemony and influence in these three continents. The implementation of this $8 trillion plan would undoubtedly jeopardize US strategic interests in these three continents and bring traditional US allies closer to China.

In September 2025, the US placed India in an economic and transit dilemma by sanctioning Iran’s Chabahar port, thus benefiting Pakistan, India’s major regional rival. The US’s numerous concessions to Pakistan and the imposition of a 50 percent tariff on Indian goods strained India-US relations. The last meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Tianjin, China in August 2025, clearly showed that China has used the new developments to its advantage and has found new powerful friends like India. China is trying at every step to replace America in regional and global equations.

As mentioned in the introduction, imperialist powers are willing to implement any anti-human and anti-environmental scenario for profit and greater hegemony over their rivals. In Ukraine, Russia is actually at war with NATO, and there is a possibility of using nuclear weapons and starting a third world war. Therefore, it is not in the interest of any country or nation that the catastrophic scenario of the Russia-Ukraine war be tested once again between the United States and China in the geography of Afghanistan.

Left Alternative

The Taliban or any affiliated and undemocratic regime may want to bargain with America or any other bully over the fate of the Afghan people, but history has shown that the Afghan people have never surrendered to the occupation and aggression of foreign empires and powers and have overthrown and defeated them with their local puppet governments. Given this unique background of the Afghan people, neither the Donald Trump administration dares to reoccupy Afghanistan, nor can the Taliban make this deal easily. The geopolitical location of Afghanistan and the nature of its people make it impossible for any aggressor or bully to swallow this delicious morsel with ease.

From the perspective of the Radical Left of Afghanistan (LRA), the way to save Afghanistan and establish stability in the region lies neither in the return of imperialism and going to war with its rivals in Afghanistan, nor in consolidating the rule of Islamic fundamentalism. The only possible alternative is the organization of a united and independent struggle of the toiling masses, workers, intellectuals and women around a progressive, democratic, secular, anti-imperialist, anti-fundamentalist and justice-seeking program. Creating a front consisting of leftist, secular, and democratic forces that seek to establish a secular, decentralized republic based on social justice and equal rights for women can cut off the imperialists’ hand from Bagram and Afghanistan and ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.

SOLO LA RESISTENCIA POPULAR DE MASAS PUEDE DETENER LA TERCERA GUERRAMUNDIAL

7 septiembre 2025

ONLY MASS POPULAR RESISTANCE CAN STOP WORLD WAR III

7 September 2025

When did World War II begin? With the German attack on Poland on September 1, 1939? With the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941? In 1936 with the Nazi-Fascist intervention to crush the Spanish Revolution? Or in 1931 with the Japanese invasion of Manchuria?

(1) No one, especially in the historical phase of asymmetric and hybrid wars, will declare the Third World War. If we define as global the wars that mark the transition from one historical phase to the next, from one hegemonic system to another, well, we are already in a conflict of world-historical proportions, marked by the decline of the U.S.-led imperialist bloc. and the beginnings of a coalition led by China. The exponential increase in military spending at every latitude is proof that a large-scale conflict is approaching.

(2) The war in Ukraine has a world-historical importance because it is de facto a war in which Russia finds itself fighting not only against the powerful Ukrainian army but also against the entire NATO bloc that supports Kiev — in the times of the USSR this massive confrontation only occurred in 1950-53 during the bloody Korean conflict. In Ukraine, Russia is not only waging an existential war, it is acting as an anti-imperialist obstacle, it is deferring and hindering Western imperialist revanchism. A real peace in Ukraine would be possible on condition that the Collective West renounces its hegemonistic aims; this seems unlikely.

3) This is demonstrated by the arrogance with which the strongest Western European countries (the “willing”), in contrast to the seemingly Pontius Pilate-like attitude of Trump’s America, keep the war and their puppet Zelensky alive, continuing to arm and finance him and even planning to provide him with eternal and unconditional support. They refuse to rule out a future large-scale European war. This explains the major rearmament plan decided by the European Union, approved despite much public opinion and some countries’ opposition. A plan that alleged strength but conceals both the weakness of the Eurocratic elites and the EU’s profound crisis. The rearmament plan, which implies the adoption of austerity social policies, could trigger a major cycle of popular struggles, which anti-imperialists must support by all means, with the aim of dissolving the European Union. Such a result would restore the countries’ national sovereignty.

(4) It is wrong to place trust in the North American administration to end the war. Trumpism, despite the heterogeneity of the MAGA social base, corresponds to the gesture of someone who needs to take a breather to start running again. North American imperialism takes one step back to take two steps forward. This is simply imperialist cunning. This explains both the tariff policy to end globalization based on free trade, and the willingness to make an accommodation with Putin’s Russia in the hope of detaching it from China, in view of the anticipated decisive clash with Beijing. The infallible proof of the irreducible imperialist nature of Trumpism is its unconditional support for the ultra-Zionist regime of Israel, its ignoble support for its genocidal war in Gaza and the final annexation of the West Bank, and its aggression against Iran — which, despite being left on its own even by those who declare themselves its allies, has responded courageously by striking Israel deeply.

(5) In this implacable context, the tenacious battle being waged by the Palestinian Resistance and the people and government of Yemen are two factors of global historic significance, even more so given the serious blows suffered by the “Axis of Resistance” in Lebanon and Syria and the accommodating stance taken by Russia and China toward Israel. Palestine and Yemen demonstrate that with the support of the popular masses, the anti-imperialist torch can exist and endure.

(6) In solidarity with the Palestinian spark, not only in the imperialist West, a mass movement has arisen that, like a great river, sees the confluence of the most disparate streams of a humanity that had seemed to be in a trance. This could be the arrival of a new great world power, that of the peoples who desire peace, freedom, democratic rights and popular sovereignty.

ALLEEN MASSAAL VOLKSVERZET KAN EEN DERDE WERELDOORLOG STOPPEN

7 september 2025

Speech by Nick Krekelbergh at the “World Anti-imperialist Front” conference in the Netherlands, June 2025

6 July 2025

Nick Krekelbergh is a co-founder of Zannekinbond, a Flemish think tank and activist group dedicated to socialism, sovereignty, anti-imperialism, and international solidarity. The organization is part of the Stop WW3 – International Initiative for Peace.
... He spoke at the Amsterdam conference of the World Anti-imperialist Platform in June 2025 both on behalf of his Belgian organisation Zannekinbond as well as for Stop World War III – International Initiative for Peace.

Dear comrades, esteemed participants,

I am here to speak on behalf of Stop World War III – an international Initiative for Peace. We are an international organization of democratic and sovereign forces committed to build a broad platform for peace. We are gathered here, with you, today for an international conference on the role of NATO and the tasks of the anti-imperialist struggle. But let’s not sugar-coat things: this is not just about military treaties or strategic doctrines. This is about life and death. About justice and injustice. About a world order buckling under the weight of hypocrisy and violence.

As the Stop WWIII International Peace Initiative, we state clearly and firmly: the conflicts in the world today are connected. Time and again, we see the same signature, the same patterns, the same players. NATO — as the spearhead of Western imperialism — runs like a red thread through this global chain of conflict, intervention and destruction.

That is why, from the very beginning, we have called for an integrated and systemic analysis. Because as long as each war is treated in isolation — disconnected from the global context of power politics and economic domination — we will continue to miss the truth. Only when we widen the lens and focus on the international dynamics of Western supremacy, do the real motives behind these endless wars become visible.

At our recent conference in Tangier, Morocco, held from May 2nd to 4th under the theme “Building an International Peace Front”, we adopted a clear and principled declaration. Today, I wish to share the key elements of that declaration — not as a loose set of opinions, but as a unified appeal to the peoples of the world.

First: Palestine

Our unconditional solidarity goes to the Palestinian people, who are facing a brutal campaign of destruction, ethnic cleansing and inhumane violence. What is happening in Gaza today is not a “war” — it is an attempt at eradication. A people is being systematically erased from its land, its history, and its existence — under the silent gaze of the so-called international community.

Let us be clear: this is a genocide, carried out by an occupying force supported, armed and politically shielded by Western powers — first and foremost the United States. This is not an “Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” This is colonial domination, met with resistance and crushed by overwhelming force.

We reject the ideology of Zionism in its current state-form, which in practice enshrines racism, exclusion and violence. It stands in flagrant contradiction not only to international law, but to the spirit of the very religions it claims to draw from — including Judaism itself.

We therefore call upon all free peoples of the world: stand up, speak out, and support the Palestinian cause. Not as a vague ideal, but as a concrete fight for dignity, justice and humanity. Support their resistance, their steadfastness, and their right to live — through all peaceful means available to us.

At the same time, we issue an urgent call to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO): launch a process of full national dialogue, include all factions, and speak with a unified voice. Division weakens resistance. Unity is essential — not only to endure the current onslaught, but to build a free future.

And no — we will not accept that resistance against oppression is smeared as “terrorism.” We reject Israel’s and the US’s attempts to delegitimize armed resistance, to isolate it and purge it from the national struggle.

Second: Europe

We observe with deep concern the ongoing escalation in Europe, where the war between Russia and Ukraine continues — fueled by weapons, propaganda, and an unprecedented military buildup by NATO.

We say: stop this war, now. The solution does not lie in more missiles, but in dialogue. Not in expanding military alliances, but in respecting sovereignty. NATO is dragging Europe toward catastrophe. Its expansion into Eastern Europe, its provocations at Russia’s borders, its aggressive posture — all of this increases the risk of wider war, while narrowing the path to peace.

We therefore also reject the EU’s rearmament plans. There can be no peace without diplomacy. No security without cooperation. And certainly no stability through the silencing of every voice that stands for peace.

Third: Latin America

We stand firmly with the peoples of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, who have for decades been the targets of economic sabotage, foreign-backed coups and political interference. We demand the immediate lifting of all sanctions against these countries. Let these peoples choose their own paths. Let them breathe.

Fourth: The global economy and structures of domination

We reject the model of capitalist globalization, which reproduces poverty, imposes dependency and serves only the interests of multinationals and Western states. So-called “free trade” is in truth a system of plunder. We advocate economic sovereignty and cooperation between peoples — based on mutual respect and equality.

We underline the need to defend the full sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, and we oppose all attempts by imperialist powers to fragment states into weak, ethnically divided entities.

Everywhere in the Global South, we call for democratic solutions — without foreign interference and with full respect for the will of the people.

And finally: Our call to all of you

We issue a heartfelt and determined appeal to all forces worldwide fighting for peace, democracy and social justice: join our international campaign, STOP WW3.

Stand together. Organize. Resist.

Because the time for analysis is over. The time for silent witnessing is over. Now is the time for action. Against imperialism. Against war. Against the lies of so-called “civilization” and “democracy” imposed by bombs and sanctions.

Let this be our shared message:

We will not be silent.

We will not bow.

We will resist.

For peace. For justice. For the future of humankind.

Thank you.

FOR PEACE AND IRAN’S RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENSE

24 June 2025

...

Another step toward the abyss of a third world war.

With the old and unfounded excuse that the Islamic Republic of Iran is building a nuclear bomb, Trump has dragged the United States into war alongside the rogue Israeli state.

This is not an improvised gesture but a long-planned and premeditated move, prepared in the event that the rogue Israeli state was, as indeed it was, gravely hurt by Iran’s legitimate and lethal self-defense.

Openly defying U.S. public opinion and much of his own electorate, Trump has ultimately bowed to the Zionist, militarist, and warmongering circles that plague the White House, the Pentagon, and various centers of U.S. power.

That there were “elective affinities” between Trump and the executioner Netanyahu was well known. There is, in fact, a diabolical symbiosis between the eschatological messianism of the gang of criminals who govern the Zionist entity and that of the North American supremacists who see themselves as the divine messengers charged with leading the world.

This ideological camaraderie is matched by an indissoluble bond — economic, financial, and military. To maintain their predatory global supremacy, the United States must keep a firm grip on its hegemony in the Middle East by supporting Israel and ensuring it remains the only country in the region with nuclear weapons — of which it possesses hundreds — while preventing anyone else from acquiring them.

Anyone who rebels or resists — be it the Palestinians or the Afghans, or nations such as Iraq or Syria — must be crushed. There can be no place for hostile forces; a proudly sovereign Iran that supports those fighting to liberate the region from Zionist colonialism cannot be tolerated.

While we firmly condemn the joint U.S.-Zionist military attack on Iran, we defend Iran’s right to self-defense by any means necessary.
We demand an end to the genocide in Gaza, the dismantling of all settlements in the West Bank, the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon and Syria, and we reaffirm our solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance.

There will be no peace until imperialism and Zionism are eradicated!

VOOR VREDE EN HET RECHT OP ZELFVERDEDIGING VAN IRAN

24 juni 2025

...

POR LA PAZ Y EL DERECHO DE IRÁN A LA AUTODEFENSA

24 de junio de 2025

...

Final Declaration – International Peace Initiative – Tangier 2025

5 May 2025

Under the theme “Building an International Front for Peace”
...

The International Peace Conference, organized by the Political Bureau of the Party of Progress and Socialism in partnership with the International Peace Initiative, saw the attendance of 60 participants representing communist, progressive, democratic, and resistance parties from 27 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, America, and Latin America.

The Conference was organized within the framework of tireless solidarity and advocacy efforts, and in support of the just Palestinian cause, as a priority, and all the just causes of peoples suffering, in various ways, from the repercussions, hegemony, and encroachment of brutal imperialism.

The proceedings of this three-day international peace conference, held from May 2 to 4 in Tangier, addressed, during its eight sessions, the most topical and crucial issues in today’s world. It was held in a difficult and complex international context, characterized in particular by the escalation of aggression against a group of countries and peoples of the world, in various forms, especially Palestine, where the defenseless Palestinian people are subjected to a true war of extermination characterized primarily by methods of displacement, starvation, and ethnic cleansing, which the brutal Zionist entity continues to perpetrate, supported by the forces of colonialism and global hegemony, in complete contempt of the most basic rules of international law and international humanitarian law.

The primary objective of this symposium, especially at this critical moment in human history, is to build an international alliance opposed to war, colonialism, and all forms of aggression against the sovereignty of peoples and the plunder of their resources. An international alliance that supports peace, justice, and fairness. From this standpoint, the parties and organizations gathered in this international front for peace declare the following:

  • Expressing their deep gratitude to the leadership of the Moroccan Party of Progress and Socialism for the excellent organization and generous delegation to this international conference.
  • Calling for the achievement of world peace based on the principles of justice, fairness, respect for human rights, and the will of peoples.
  • Its full and absolute solidarity with the Palestinian people against the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing they are subjected to at the hands of the Zionist killing and destruction machine, and, behind it, global imperialism.
  • Its emphasis on the racist and brutal nature of Zionist ideology, and its contradiction of all religious laws and beliefs, including Judaism.
  • Its call to all free people of the world to unite and stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and support their heroic resistance and legendary steadfastness by all available means.
  • Its call to the Palestine Liberation Organization to initiate a comprehensive Palestinian national dialogue involving all Palestinian factions with the aim of reaching a unified Palestinian discourse that would contribute, alongside other Arab and international efforts, to halting the war of genocide and displacement in Gaza and the West Bank. It also holds the Zionist entity fully responsible for the war on Gaza and rejects its efforts, along with the United States, to label the resistance as terrorism and exclude it from the Palestinian national sphere.
  • Its rejection of the expansion of the war in Europe and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and its call for ending them through political means that guarantee the rights and future of peoples. – Its condemnation of NATO’s expansion and its attempts to extend its control over areas in Eastern Europe, and its threats of war against the Russian Federation.
  • Its condemnation of the warmongering rearmament plan by the Eueopean Union and its obstruction of all efforts for peace and an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
  • Its solidarity with the Latin American countries targeted by American imperialism, especially Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and its call to lift the unjust sanctions against the Cuban and Venezuelan peoples and respect their independent sovereignty.
  • Its quest for ending capitalist globalisation and the free trade regime designed to serve imperialist interest.
  • Its emphasis on the need to respect the sovereignty of states and their territorial integrity, against any attempt of imperialist power to break up nation states into micro-ethnic entities.
  • Its support for a political, democratic solution to the disputes that divide peoples and nations of the South of the world, including the conflict in the Sahara.
  • Calling on all free people of the world from democratic and patriotic forces striving for social justice to join the international initiative STOPWW3, and the necessity of standing together against imperialism, Zionism, and the wars and conflicts provoked by them.

Slotverklaring Internationaal Vredesinitiatief STOPWO3 – Vredesconferentie Tanger 2025

5 mei 2025

...
